Matt has spent the last 25 years studying classical forms of yoga, vedanta, and tantra and teaching on a near daily basis since 1996.
His studies included long term apprenticeships with master teachers. He belongs to diksa lineages in the tantra that go back thousands of years.
He gratefully acknowledges those teachers alive and passed that have shaped and guided him. The best among them choose to remain anonymous.
“One should turn on oneself and reflect on what he/she is. The mind, the will, the entire consciousness must be withdrawn from their external pre-occupations and oriented inwards. They must be focused on a self-inquiry as to what is one’s true and ultimate nature. This pursuit proceeds through successive eliminations of what one is not and leads ultimately to one’s basic reality. The Jiva realizes he/she is none other than Shiva. This quest is the true object of life; all other objectives are secondary and equip life to reach this high goal. This discipline of self-deliberation leading to self-discovery is yoga sadhana.”
